Seshat Yon’shea Walker is a writer, multi-disciplinary creative, and founder of The aSHE Fund as well as The aSHE XCHNGE LLC. The aSHE Fund supports and funds Black Women Creatives in the DMV. The aSHE XCHNGE LLC is business that designs programs, products and projects that serve Black Women Creatives. Walker holds a Masters of Arts in Design Management from Savannah College of Art & Design. She has over well over 15 years of experience creating projects that support communities through art, strategy, and impact. “When Black women create we heal , liberate and innovate.”

Grants Associate

Nina is a Detroit native who is passionate about independent filmmaking and amplifying the voice of marginalized storytellers. She is a 2019 graduate of the MFA Film program at Howard University and holds a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Media Studies from Kalamazoo College in Michigan. A filmmaker and storyteller who focuses on the experience of Black women in America, Nina wrote and directed The Problem with Erin, a 10 minute short film that is currently in post-production. She has also worked on other film productions, such as, The D (Detroit), Rosenwald (DC) and 4:53 (Port au Prince, Haiti and Miami).

I contributed to the aSHE FUND because I am a Black woman artist and I believe in Black women and I believe in the founder and her commitment to creative women of color. The early stages are the hardest and a micro-grant like this can be an essential resource for a growing business.
