HOST Rachelle Etienne-Robinson

Rachelle Etienne-Robinson is a creative director, designer, producer, and arts administrator. She was born in Queens, NY and raised in Fairfax, VA.  Her love for art, design, and crafts developed in middle school and led her to further her education, obtaining a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY in 2001. Rachelle’s experience spans the fields of design, fashion, media, events, education, and arts administration.  She has worked for various organizations like Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, the Knot Inc., the District of Columbia Public Schools, the Arts Council of Fairfax County, and the Black Dress Exhibit. In 2013, Rachelle started her own fashion and accessory line, ChezChelle Designs, a custom design clothing and accessory brand. As founder and co-CEO of Substantial Art & Music,  Rachelle brings her knowledge of arts administration, design, and business management to better support their clients in achieving their goals.

Vibration LLC is a bold bohemian artisan jewelry brand that mixes fashion and spirit to create handmade gemstone jewelry. Designer, Desiree Hill focuses on creating fashion forward looks infusing healing gemstones and other beads from around the world for a funky spin on gemstone jewelry. Each small-batch collection is composed of several ond-of-a-kind pieces that are designed and crafted to be unique, bold and beautiful.

Dela Kissi is a textile artist and co-owner of Delkis Collections. Growing up in Ghana where she was born, she was always intrigued by the process of fabric production. She pursued her education and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Industrial Arts with specialization in Textile Design. Dela is influenced by the vibrant African culture and nature. She also believes that it is important to wear clothes that tell a story or even start a conversation. She incorporates abstract designs, Ghana Adinkra symbols and mask in screen printing and painting on clothes. Delkis designs are one of a kind birthed by Dela, thus making them unique. Delkis Collections currently has employed a team of workers in the US and Ghana to accommodate the growing demands.

Jamila Felton of The Beat of Blossoms www.thebeatofblossoms.com

The Beat of Blossoms is the creative work of Jamila Zahra Felton, an artist, educator, and librarian. Through book arts, mixed-media and writing, Jamila explores memory, identity, love, self-care, power, and history. Raised in Boston, Jamila holds degrees from Spelman College, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Catholic University of America's School of Library and Information Science. Jamila blossoms in Washington, DC with her family. See the beat. Let your creativity blossom!
